Idaho River Rescue is a small business with a large amount of dedication, knowledge and experience. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality in training and education while utilizing the most current rescue techniques in the industry.
Safety, safety, safety. This is the best way to describe our philosophy. We pride ourselves on understanding everyone has a different comfort level when it comes to water. We encourage our students to expand their comfort zones while in the controlled environment of our courses. We keep our water courses to a 12:1 student to instructor ratio to optimize learning and keep the scenarios as safe as possible.
We encourage everyone to continue to train and practice these skills and get more experience in order to have competency & judgment when a rescue is required.
Idaho River Rescue is also working to offer more advanced water and rope courses in the near future.
Please feel free to contact us with any question. We look forward to hearing from you.
At Idaho River Rescue our fundamental basis is safety. Although IRR is a new company, established in 2008, we are not new to the water or rescue.
Kent Fritchman is our operations manager, lead instructor and an independent contractor forRescue 3 International. Kent's love for the outdoors began as a child and took on a professional aspect in the late 80's as he began rock climbing and joined the Seattle Mountaineers. Moving to Idaho in the early 90's, he spent 2 years with Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue as part of their Technical Rescue Team. Moving back to Washington State in 1997, his love for rivers from his childhood was reborn and he became a commercial raft guide the next year.
Kent has worked for River Recreation since 1999. As an ACA (American Canoe Association) Advanced Raft Guide instructor, he has run River Recreations Guide Training Program and WRT classes which he returns to Washington for every March and April since 2005.
Idaho River Rescue is also currently working as a independent contractor for the Idaho POST (Police Officer Standard & Training) Academy, to develop programs for water rescue in law enforcement.
